300, When I Need Workout Motivation

I’ve read many times that the easiest way to plateau is to work out with people that are weaker, the same strength, putting in the same effort that you are at the gym. Why? Because if you are working a little harder, pushing a little more weight than them, then in your mind you consider yourself strong. You loose the push or motivation to improve. So try working out beside a muscle head that is pushing more weight than you are, you’ll find that your following workouts will achieve more than you have in the past. Why, you’ll have convinced yourself you’re not that strong.

Whenever I’m starting to feel good, well maybe that’s the wrong way to say it. Whenever my mind feels it’s reached it’s goal, I pop the “300″ dvd in and watch a couple of fight scenes. This helps convince me and my brain that I have a way to go still. Below are some video’s that help me really push it each time I’m at the gym.

Behind the scene’s of the “300″ Spartan workout

“If you’re not nervous before you train, think about it, then it might not be hard enough.”

What motivates you, or pushes you through your plateau’s?

What motivates me is the strength I am being given by the people around me that I will succeed at my goals. And although I am only just starting back at the gym after some time off it is really helping me get that good feeling back.

Adam, it’s tough getting back in the gym. I tried 2 or three times over the past few years. Enough to earn the nickname “A Card Carrying Member”.

Keep at it. Treat the gym like a business appointment that you cannot miss. After 3 weeks it will just become habit and at 6 weeks the addiction will set in.

But, you are correct. Having a strong support team under you is the most important and #1 reason for succeeding.
