Day 15 - Week 2 in Review

Well it’s been a hectic week.  A couple of crazy project delays, causing a lot of work in the evenings. I only made it out the gym twice. Really disappointed about this, but we all have these types of weeks from time to time.  Even though I only made it to the gym twice this week, I made the effort to do some Bodyweight circuits at home and some quick morning workouts with exercise bands (which is the whole reason I bought them).  I find doing even a quick 10 minute but extremely intense workout is better than doing nothing at all.

In my two workouts I still managed to hit some personal bests. I upped my barbell bench press 10lbs which puts me at 165lbs, so I’ve hit one goal of benching more than I weigh. I was able to do 70lbs Dumbbell Incline presses, 315lbs Barbell squats for 8 reps and 3 sets. Almost to another goal with my squats which is twice my bodyweight. So in the end, still a successful week.

My weigh-in numbers are:
Weight: 162lbs (up 2 pounds from last week)
Waist: 32 inches (no change here)
Body Fat: 13% (down 0.3%)

My motto for this upcoming week:

Strong(er)

On to continued success.

Weight up, body fat down! Excellent Darryl! Even though you missed a couple workouts, you must have kept the nutrition in check. Great work.

Those were some great grip strength exercises you posted, too. That’s always a problem for me with dumbbells. For deadlifts I’ve been using an alternate grip (one overhand, the other underhand) to keep it slipping from out of my hands. Too bad there’s no alternate db grip ; )

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I would love to say I kept my nutrition in check. But that would be a bold faced lie on my part. My nutrition is the absolutely worst part of my lifestyle. As I mentioned on your blog, the Sunday planning is critical for me to stick to eating better and I haven’t been very good at this, but will be buckling down this week. I think week 3 review will be the answer to my nutrition.

    Cheers,
