Well on May 12th, 2008 I’m starting the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest #2 by Craig Ballantyne. Take a look at the winners from the first Turbulence Training Transformation Contest. The contest started on May 1st and the last day to get started is May 31st. Why is this the last day to get started? Well the contest ends on August 23rd, 2008 and it’s a 12-week (84 days) contest to transform your daily habits and start your new life with eating better, applying the TT workout program and loosing the fat that is sucking your energy and life away. With that being the biggest prize everyone wins, the 1st Place Winner will receive $2000 plus a 3-year Platinum Membership to TTMembers.com. There are other great prizes for 2nd and 3rd place and best video journal. Full Contest Rules Here.
Where I will find my motivation.
First I will start Kekich’s 100 Credos. Trying to apply as many as I can to my life through out the next 84 days and beyond. Here’s the one I’m starting with.
“21. Always have lofty explicit goals and visualize them intensely. Assume the attitude that if you don’t reach your goals, you will literally die! This type of gun-to-your-head forced focus… survival pressure mindset, no matter how briefly used, stimulates your mind, forces you to use your time effectively… and illuminates new ways of getting things done.”
The second part to my motivation is the support system I have in place with my neighbours, friends and family. They will help provide me with the drive to stick at it and drag me to the gym when I’m trying to back out and make excuses. Add the TTMembers Forum to the mix (nothing like having hundreds of people pushing towards the same goal and encouraging you everyday) and I have a support system that should stop me from getting discouraged and not sticking with it.
What are my goals for the next 12 weeks?
- Improve my nutrition. What do I mean by this. Currently, I don’t eat enough on some days, other days I eat to much. Yes it balances itself out at the end of the week, but it will be much better if I follow an eating plan. I also will be cutting out as much processed food as I can. By processed food I mean if it comes in a box or a bag I’m trying not to eat it. I will do my shopping around the outside of the grocery store and avoid the aisles in the middle.
- Increase my Barbell Squat so that I can squat a minimum of double my body weight. That means in 12 weeks, I will be able to Squat a minimum of 320lbs for 10 reps and 3 sets. I currently can squat 295lbs for 10 reps and 2 sets.
- Increase my Dumbbell Flat Press to my body weight (this is the combined weight of the Dumbbells). So in 12 weeks I will be Dumbbell Flat Pressing 160lbs, or 80lb Dumbbells in each hand. This goal will take proper planning because of my shoulder injuries I have incurred over the years. If I don’t do this correctly (building my upper back at the same time) I will pull my arms forward in my rotor cuffs which is extremely painful when you add any weight to your arm movement
- Decrease my body fat to 10% to 12%. My body fat is currently 16.5%. With correcting my nutrition and making it to the gym 3 times a week over the next 12 weeks while following the Turbulence Training Workout Programs, I will easily achieve this goal. I have already dropped from 21% on February 15th to 16.5% body fat May 3rd.
- Apply Kekich’s Credos to my workouts and everyday life in business and relationships.
The goals above will put me in the same shape as my 21 year old brother. How will that be for bragging rights. Not to mention turning 30 and being in the best shape of my life. Even better shape than when I was playing hockey 6 times a week.
If you want to participate in this life changing experience too, join today.
Let’s get started!!!

Sup Darryl!!! Nice post and wish you well on the 12 week contest. I’m hoping you’re right there in front of the pack at the end of your 12 week journey. I had to chime in here because those are amazing yet reachable and definable goals that I KNOW you can do in 12 weeks. You have definitely come so far to this point.
Also congratulations on that Barbell squat yesterday. You definitely hammered that one out! I wish I can get back to those workouts again soon…
More power, Daryll!!! Can I put your link on my blog by the way?
Keep it up!
Andy
