Well it’s been a hectic past few weeks with work and external work which made me think of this quote from Thomas Edison
“Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing”
I thought of this quote because I was at the point where I was so busy I felt like I wasn’t accomplishing anything. Just spinning in my chair going nowhere and not finishing anything or accomplishing what I needed to get done.
Well that was the past 3 weeks and this is now. My life is back to normal, if you consider it that. Accomplishments and goals, well I finally did my weigh in update and I’ve hit my original goal of 12% Body Fat that I set in February. Time to head towards 10%. I’m also into the final 4 weeks of the TT Transformation Contest and finally my eating habits are coming back around. This is something I’ve been struggling with over the past 6 weeks. To much junk food (fast food, restaurants, munchies) and not enough eating what people call clean (Fruits, veggies, unprocessed meat, dairy, eggs and nuts and legumes). It will be nice once my energy levels start to return in the next couple of days. I should also be able to get down to 11% or less body fat if I stick to my nutrition plan.
Who caught the past UFC? What a battle between Griffin and Jackson. While watching it a quote from James Corbett came to mind that I use when thinking of quitting a workout early.
“Fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired that you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round - remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.”
And here is why Forrest Griffin is one of my favourite fighters, such great humour.
